Floridians can now get 50% off state park passes – Tampa Bay Times

Floridians can pay half price for annual state park passes through Jan. 13.
It’s part of the Great Outdoors Initiative announced by Gov. Ron DeSantis on Friday. The governor’s executive order also provides 50% discounts on Gold Sportsman hunting and fishing licenses from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
“Florida is home to some of the best state parks, waterways and recreational lands in the country, and I encourage all Floridians to get outdoors, experience our extraordinary natural resources and enjoy our fundamental right to hunt and fish,” DeSantis said in a news release.
Florida has 175 state parks. With the discount, the family annual state park pass costs $60, plus tax, while individual annual passes cost $30.
The temporary discount on hunting and fishing licenses applies to annual, five-year and lifetime Gold Sportsman licenses.
Go to floridastateparks.org for more information and to purchase passes.
